SUMMARY:RISE 2026
DESCRIPTION:Rallying in Solidarity for Equity (RISE)\, the SNG Health Equity event is back again for another year. This event will provide hot food\, a health resource fair with information on local organizations\, a clothing drive\, daily care resources and warm smiles from organizers. This event is aimed at increasing resources\, direct services and networks for the unhoused population of South Minneapolis. This is the fourth year of this event and we hope to expand the reach of this event by increasing partnerships (the role of organizers)\, but also by having more volunteers. \nWe’re looking for volunteers to help our Health Equity Event for our unhoused neighbors run smoothly! Shifts are just 1 to 2 hours\, and your support will make a big impact. To sign up\, please use SignUpGenius or contact Jasmine Epps at Jazzy61205@gmail.com. \nThis event is for anyone who is unhoused\, uninsured or underinsured\, or anyone who just needs a little care.

SUMMARY:36th ART - Brackett Park Rocket Lighting Event
DESCRIPTION:36th ART is hosting a Brackett Park Rocket Lighting event during the Greenway Glow Festival in conjunction with the 3rd annual yarnbombing of the fence atop the bridge\, led by Jack Becker. \nWe are seeking artists to help illuminate the rocket in a variety of fun and entertaining ways\, including multi-colored projections\, LED string light programming\, and a youth-orchestrated flashlight flash mob\, accompanied by dramatic lift-off sound effects and billowing steam. Imagine the Brackett Rocket “taking off” while a circle of community youths—using colored gels over their flashlights—simulate a fiery lift-off! \nStipends will be offered to 2-3 selected artists for short programs of 10-15 minutes. The deadline for submitting Letters Of Interest is July 15. Please email beckerjack54@gmail.com for more details. \nPlans call for a community potluck picnic\, a bonfire\, live music\, and lawn games (permit pending). Special guests will include Randy Walker\, the artist who created the sculpture “Return Journey” in 2007 using the original rocket ship that stood for decades in the playground. Stay tuned for details! \nPlease contact bobbie.erichsen@gmail.com for questions about the event.

SUMMARY:Seward Sparkle
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to our first Seward Sparkle event at Mathews Park! You can make your own sun catcher to hide around Seward or give to a sparkly person. Funding for this event is provided by SNG’s Community Engagement Committee. Sign up to volunteer at the event! \nAbout Seward Sparkle\, by founder\, and Seward Neighbor\, Angel Teske \nEarly 2026 was a difficult time during operation metro surge. I wanted to do something creative to spread some love throughout my community. I started making mini sun catchers and giving them to people at protests helping neighbors. It brought so much joy to share something light and beautiful during such darkness. \nI wanted to continue to share the sparkles and community and the idea of Seward Sparkle was born. I am grateful to have received a grant from the Seward Neighborhood Group to share some sparkles around Seward. \nFollow along the project and share your own pics of found sparkles @sewardsparkle
