Funds for Community Initiatives

In 2023, the Seward Neighborhood Group will make up to $20,000 available to help fund community initiatives that benefit the residents of the Seward neighborhood.  At least $5,000 will be reserved for initiatives developed by – and/or that have a direct benefit to – members of the Seward renter community and/or the Seward East-African community.  The maximum amount allotted to any single initiative will be $5,000.  

Proposals for the use of these funds can be made by Seward community members, SNG committees, SNG-affiliated working groups, SNG staff members, or SNG board members.  The SNG Board of Directors will make all decisions with regard to the use of these funds and may require any or all of the following as part of their decision-making process:  a written proposal, a project budget, a presentation to the board, and/or review by an SNG committee.

Funds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis (except for funds reserved for initiatives developed by – and/or that have a direct benefit to – members of the Seward renter community and/or the Seward East-African community).  All funds will be distributed and accounted for based on established SNG financial policies, procedures, and practices.
