Join in the last Seward walk of the season on Wednesday, August 30 at 6:30pm, meeting at the old oak tree on Franklin Terrace and West River Road. The walk, A National Park in our Backyards, will focus on the park (Mississippi National River and Recreation Area), the river, access to public lands, and how we can be stewards to these natural places. Speakers include Michael Anderson, a former National Park Service Ranger and co-founder of the Adventure Stewardship Alliance, and Maria Lee, an employee with the DNR and former US Forest Service naturalist. We also will provide some bags, gloves and grabbers for willing walkers who want to “cleanup” as we walk.
Please note the meeting time has changed to 6:30 PM!!
