Black History Month Radio Opportunity!

Invitation – Black History Month 2021
KFAI has a tradition of celebrating Black History Month each February with a full 24-hour day of programming by KFAI hosts and members of the Twin Cities Black community. With your help, we also hope to expand the event to include additional community programming scheduled throughout the entire month. This event is to provide a platform for displaying the multitudes of real Black experiences and histories.

Program proposals are reserved for Black people/members of the African Diaspora. If you encompass one of the identities listed and are interested in participating, you can choose to get involved in a number of ways.
 1. Create a program that adds to the celebration of Black people, our history, and culture.
2. Co-host with a current KFAI program host (pending program host participation) and contribute content for a program.
3. Join the planning committee as a member of the Black community and work closely with staff to determine programming for Black History Month.
Interested hosts can apply to be on-air or online by completing this form. Please note that on-air shows are specifically reserved for Black voices. Shows can be presented live or recorded in advance. No previous radio experience is necessary – equipment, training, and mentorship will be provided as needed.

Opportunities for non-Black folks to support Black History Month programming will be made available in the future. Follow KFAI on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates.
