36th A.R.T. (Avenue Revitalization & Transformation)
36th A.R.T. is a community-lead, arts-based initiative to revitalize and transform 36th Avenue between 25th Street and Lake Street. 36th A.R.T. is led by a working group of residents who live on or near 36th Avenue. The working group raised funds for a temporary art installation at Elsa’s House of Sleep on the northwest corner of 36th Avenue and Lake Street.
The group is currently pursuing other projects, including:
- A lighting and spray paint art project at the railroad bridge.
- Adding vegetation and painted pavement along the corridor to calm traffic.
- Working with the SNG History Committee to place historical markers along 36th Avenue.
