Community Engagement Committee
goals & Purpose
- Assesses the well being of residents and solicit proposals from the community for improving the social aspects of the neighborhood (e.g. renter issues, police/community interactions, homeless encampments, crime/safety issues, post-2020 unrest, post-pandemic, and ICE occupation recovery efforts).
- Develops and implements initiatives – including programs, projects, and events – that work to build an inclusive, equitable, and engaged community in the Seward neighborhood.
- Assists with the creation and amplification of communications related to SNG initiatives and other opportunities for civic engagement.

- Improving and sustaining accessibility and equity in events, programs, and initiatives.
- Shifts in Seward neighborhood, and exploring appropriate action.
- Open forum to promote community events, programs, and initiatives.

The Community Engagement Committee meets most months on the 3rd Mondays of each month at 6:30-8:00pm via Google Meet or in-person at the Matthews Recreation Center Craft Room. 2318 S 29th Ave. Check the SNG events calendar for accurate meeting times, and to access the virtual meeting link.
