Free Film at Matthews Center: “Farmer/Labor Movement: A Minnesota Story.”

The SNG History Committee is sponsoring a showing of a film on the growth and development of the Farmer/Labor political movement in Minnesota. The documentary, “Farmer/Labor Movement: A Minnesota Story,” will be shown at 7:00 p.m. at Matthews Center and is free. Seward resident, Tom Beer, who was involved in the production of the film, will introduce the showing and answer any questions after the program. If you have a copy of the book “A People’s History of the Seward Neighborhood,” you can read about Seward’s connections to this story in Chapter 13, as well as come to understand the importance of the “FL” in “DFL” and Seward’s important role in the political party which would represent Minnesota for much of the 20th Century.
