Land Acknowledgement

Minneapolis is situated on the homelands of the Dakota people. An area that is steeped in rich Indigenous history, and today is home to Indigenous people from more than 30 different nations. As a City, we have a responsibility to care for the land on which we live and work and all its natural surroundings. This stewardship is an integral part of our involvement in SNG, and we honor it.

Grievance Procedure

It is the intent of the the Seward Neighborhood Group to treat all members and stakeholders of the Seward Neighborhood fairly and equitably. Any group or person who is eligible for participation in the activities of the Seward Neighborhood Group or otherwise directly affected by the actions of SNG may file a grievance according to this procedure.

Meet the Board of Directors

Meet the people doing the work behind the scenes! Board members are volunteers who meet monthly, and on special occasions, to ensure our neighborhood group can support its residents. Staff members are hired by the Board to carryout day-to-day tasks that support our community.

Established in 1960, the Seward Neighborhood Group (SNG) is recognized by the City of Minneapolis as the official community engagement organization for the Seward neighborhood.

Community Development Committee

Ensures that Seward’s built environment—commercial, industrial, housing, parks, roads, bikeways, pedestrian environment, utilities—is safe, improving, serves all residents, owners and workers, is well-maintained and environmentally sustainable.

Assesses resident well-being and community needs, from renter issues and public safety to community resilience and recovery. Members collaborate to develop programs and events that build an inclusive, equitable, and engaged Seward neighborhood.
